mEDITERRANEAN STYLE

I’ve always believed the most compelling gatherings exist at the intersection of beauty, function, and human connection. Curating a space that fosters these elements is one of my greatest joys.

As summer approaches, I dream of sun-drenched evenings, Mediterranean-inspired aesthetics, and tablescapes that transport me to the Italian coastline. I think of a slower-paced world. One that invites me to savor the beauty of each moment.

To create that effervescent energy, I’m blending tactile linens, vintage-inspired glassware, soft lighting, and natural accents that celebrate the Dolce Vita {the sweet life} lifestyle. And to stay connected around the table, I’m bringing the charcuterie down the center of the table.

Linens: I’m investing in high-quality linen table runners in natural hues. To keep the look effortlessly elegant, I’m keeping the linens slightly rumpled – I don’t want them to look overly pressed. I’m layering different textures by combining smooth linen with jute accents.

Glassware: I love mixing green glass tumblers with vintage stemware. Adding a glass carafe or wine decanter as a functional, decorative element serves as an additional piece that reflects the golden hour light and creates a dimension of height to the table.

Lantern Layers: Lanterns filled with the soft glow of candlelight is an absolute must. I’ll mix different sizes and styles—from Moroccan-inspired metal designs to simple glass hurricane lanterns - and place them at varying heights on the table and throughout the space.

Natural Accents: A dramatic centerpiece with lemon, lime, or orange branches a showstopper. Everytime. I like placing them in low, wide vessels so guests can still see each other across the table. Conversation and connection is key!

The Dolce Vita style embraces slightly asymmetrical arrangements, naturally flowing linens, and organic elements.  It’s perfectly imperfect. It’s soft, not rigid. There’s great purpose and meaning behind it - to slow down, be present, and give attention to the beauty that surrounds us.

With love,

Jodie
